It has been an interesting 25 years since leaving Cawthra. Finished University in 1989 with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and promptly moved to Sudbury to start my career as a chemical engineer with Falconbridge (now called Xstrata). After 8 years of living in Northern Ontario, I decided it was time to move back home and I joined Holcim Engineering in Mississauga. I designed cements plants in North and South America for 8 years. During my time at Holcim I worked with Sergio Longo. I moved to St. Lawrence Cement in Mississauga as their environmental engineer for period of time. In 2005 I returned to the Waterloo Region joining Sulco Chemicals (sulphuric acid manufacturing plant) in Elmira as their process engineer. I become their plant manager in 2006. Sulco Chemicals is owned by Canada Colors and Chemicals and in this year, I was asked to become the Manager of Health and Safety for the entire Canada Colors Organization. It is a new challenge away from engineering for me. I am now back living in Mississauga and working out of Brampton. |
